'Jail Bharo' for retaining Visakhapatnam Steel Plant in public sector
Nearly 2,000 employees, contract workers and political activists courted arrest on Sunday as part of a 'jail bharo' agitation to press for retaining Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant in the public sector here on Sunday.

Visakhapatnam: Nearly 2,000 employees, contract workers and political activists courted arrest on Sunday as part of a 'jail bharo' agitation to press for retaining Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant in the public sector here on Sunday.
Raising slogans, the protesters went from Kurmannapalem gate to Gajuwaka Police Station to court arrest-a day after their relay hunger strike entered the 365th day. Those arrested included recognised union president J Ayodharam, Ch Narsinga Rao (CITU), Mantri Rajasekhar and Neerukonda Ramachandra Rao (INTUC) and D Adinarayana (AITUC).
